A Dose of Kamari

Kamari Esquerra is a reporter and anchor at NBC Palm Springs in the beautiful Coachella Valley. A proud alumna of  The University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em Horns!), Kamari earned degrees in Journalism and Radio-TV-Film. She is the former host of  "A Dose of Kamari" on KRGN 98.5 FM. 

Kamari's career has been nothing less than extraordinary. During the summer of her sophomore year of college, Kamari studied abroad in London, where she had the opportunity to create a documentary short film highlighting the artistry of a British-Iranian refugee. During the spring of 2020, Kamari spent a semester living and working in Los Angeles, and served as a production intern at ABC News Network- her dream internship. As an intern at ABC News, Kamari had the incredible opportunity to attend the 92nd Annual Academy Awards- one of her proudest achievements. She has also been to the BET Awards. Kamari also served as a news intern at CBS in Austin, digital producer intern at ABC13 in Houston, and public affairs and real estate intern at BerlinRosen in New York City.

Along with journalism, Kamari is passionate about singing. She has performed in numerous talent shows, plays and musicals from a young age in the Central Texas area and beyond. At her core, Kamari is a multifaceted storyteller- both as a journalist and as a singer. She hopes to create a career where she can merge her passion for both music and journalism. Through her work, Kamari hopes to inspire, influence, and impact the lives of others in a meaningful way.
